Cholesterol is a waxy substance that is made in the liver and found in some foods. There are two types of cholesterol; good and bad. Bad cholesterol or low-density lipoproteins (LDL) can build up and block the flow of blood through your body. This can cause a heart attack or stroke. The goal is for patients with diabetes to have LDL cholesterol levels below 100.
See how each practice and their patients are working together to regularly check LDL cholesterol levels and to keep those levels under control.
